Discuss this service

Start with the premises

A useful guarding brief explains what is being protected and where the officer needs to be. We ask about entrances, boundaries, staff access, delivery times and any area that needs particular attention. The aim is to agree a practical scope rather than describe every site as the same job.

Static guarding can be discussed for a temporary period or an ongoing schedule. Include the address, shift times, relevant site conditions and the manager responsible for instructions. If the assignment involves several positions, tell us which duties must be covered at the same time.

Agree the duties before the shift

Depending on the site, duties may include overseeing an access point, checking the authority for entry, observing an agreed area or completing specified checks. These are examples for discussion, not a promise that every task is included in a single officer’s shift.

If patrols are required, their purpose and route should be considered alongside any fixed-post responsibilities. An entrance cannot be treated as continuously attended while the same officer is elsewhere. The quotation needs to reflect the actual coverage and the responsibilities you expect.

Handover, communication and equipment

We discuss the site contact, relevant instructions, reporting arrangements and how the officer receives information at the start of the assignment. Existing equipment provided by the premises may be used where suitable permissions, competence and the agreed scope allow it.

IBS uses Zello Work for operational coordination. A communication platform supports contact between the team; it does not replace a site-specific response or emergency procedure. The reporting route and the people authorised to give instructions should be clear before the shift begins.

Hours and costs

The standard direct-booking guide for static guarding is £23.75 per officer per hour, with a six-hour minimum. A six-hour shift for one officer therefore starts with a £142.50 labour calculation before any expressly agreed additional requirements. Your written quotation confirms the final scope and charges.

Christmas and New Year work can carry different rates. Exact holiday periods, urgency and site conditions need confirmation in the quotation. Direct assignments must be confirmed at least three hours before the start, subject to availability. Security-company subcontracting follows separate commercial terms and an eight-hour minimum.

Prepare your enquiry

Include the service, exact location, dates, shift times and the responsibilities you have in mind. Add the estimated number of officers if known. The team will clarify the requirements with you; the website does not determine staffing or confirm a booking.
